The expiry date for the Norwegian «vestlandslefse» reads JAN 13 2010. The actual expiry date is January 2013, because 2010 means produced on the 10th day of 2012.

When in doubt: use more words

When an expiry date of “Jan 13 2010” really means “Produced on the 10th day of 2012, expires January 2013”, you would think it would be easier to change the format than to hang up posters.

How bad is it?
